Modelling Ocean Dynamics & Ecosystems Lab

We study the role of the global ocean in the climate system. Topics of current research include global heat and carbon budgets, ocean circulation, geophysical fluid dynamics, ocean biochemistry, and marine ecosystems. We employ a host of tools, including

• Observations,

• Theoretical and analytical modelling,

• Scientific computing (ocean modelling, coupled-climate modelling, DNS/LES, HPC), and

• Data-driven methods (data assimilation, dynamical downscaling, machine learning).
